Despite my trepidation, the canner did not explode. Behold the jewel-like bounty!

And so it begins, canning season 2009
Today I am canning beets using the pressure canner which always makes me nervous. Quinn helped by staying calm. Zoey helped by sleeping. I made a brine and pickled 3 different kinds: white, yellow, and stripey, in segregated jars. Only the yellow were from our garden. The rest were from Borski Organic Farm - the credit for our missed CSA last week.
Despite my trepidation, the canner did not explode. Behold the jewel-like bounty!
