Well, we did it. There were finally enough slicing tomatoes (2) ready at the same time for us to have the first BBT dinner of the year. In many families this might be a celebration of the BLT sandwich, but at our house it involves bacon, blue cheese dressing, and tomatoes, with plenty of cracked pepper. Sometimes the L makes an appearance, but not very often. Last night's edition used one Cherokee Purple tomato (not really purple, more of a pinkinsh green on the outside), and one Mr. Stripey (it is red and yellow). They both have great flavor.
We ate them too fast for photos to be taken!

Sounds very tasty. Nothing compares to garden tomatoes.
Do you order your heirloom tomatoes online from seed or find plants somewhere(if so, where?)
